Abrasion
resistant linings are available in a wide variety of materials.
Choosing the correct lining for your application will
minimize cost and maximize the life of the equipment.
High
Alumina Ceramics are highly effective in most
applications. 90% alumina ceramic bricks, pipe tile, hex
tile, and cylinders are time-tested standards that come
in a wide range of sizes to fit most applications. MCS
also offers a variety of adhesives to aid the customer
in installation if they choose to do their own linings.
Silicon
Carbide
can be formed into stand-alone products or incorporated
with other lining materials to maximize design performance.
Reaction bonded silicon carbide is an extremely abrasion
resistant product that can be used in specific areas where
there is a concentrated need. Nitride bonded can be easily
formed into a wide variety of shapes and sizes that are
both abrasion and thermal shock resistant.
If
you have a special need, there is a large selection of
materials to meet most conditions:
Abrasion
Resistant Steel:
Excellent where impact prohibits use of ceramics or temperature
limits use of adhesives.
Basalt:
A cost effective solution for straight runs of pipe with
significantly lower abrasion concerns. Most effective
when combined with alumina lined fittings.
Specialty
Plastics: Particularly suited for sliding and
plugging conditions.
Tungsten
Carbide: Outstanding for use in small areas
with extreme wear. Can be attached by silver soldering,
epoxy or bonding.
